OEM and ODM TV Mount Projects: From Brief to Approval

A clear scope helps both sides decide whether a project starts with an existing design or requires a new product-development discussion.

Explain what you already have

For an OEM discussion, share the available drawings, specification, sample references and brand requirements. For an ODM discussion, describe the application and product goals, including the television interface, movement and market requirements. The commercial use of OEM and ODM can vary, so agree what design and manufacturing work is included rather than relying on the label alone.

Separate functional needs from cosmetic changes

TV compatibility, structural arrangement and adjustment behaviour belong in the functional brief. Colour, logo, packaging and instruction language are separate decisions. An existing configuration with branded packaging may be a different scope from a redesigned arm or mounting plate. Record these distinctions before discussing schedule and sample approval.

Use approval checkpoints

Agree the design-review inputs, sample evaluation, packaging review and production confirmation. Document the product configuration and changes at each checkpoint. Testing and certification needs should be discussed for the destination market and actual product. ISO 9001 quality-management certification should not be presented as a substitute for product-specific certification.

Send a useful first brief

Provide the intended application, TV requirements, estimated quantity, target market, timing and available drawings. State which decisions are fixed and which are open to suggestions. PureTVMount can use this brief to discuss design and manufacturing requirements; project-specific capability, timing and commercial terms are confirmed during consultation.
